Stop Cooking With This Oil – It Can Cause Stroke And Heart Attack.

 

The rate at which people are dieing from stroke and heart attacks in Nigeria is becoming alarming and frightening.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 100 thousands Nigerians die from heart disease every year.

If you have been following news updates, you’d have read how several Nollywood stars died from stroke and heart attacks.

It is really a big serious matter that we need to take seriously.

Every time I teach about heart attack and stroke, the mega question people ask me is, what is the exact cause of heart attack and stroke. The truth is, there are several causes of heart disease, and one of the major causes has to do with our food.

What we consume and what we use to cook our foods can cause harm to our health.

This is why you must stop using Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils to Cook.

A typical example are those oils that cakes or become solid at room temperature or when the weather is cold. They are very common in our local markets.

This oil contain a bad substance known as Trans fat.

This trans fat raises your “bad” cholesterol and also lowers your “good” cholesterol.

The bad cholesterol is known as LDL (Low density lipoprotein) which builds up in your arteries (the blood vessels that supplies blood to every part of your body) to from plaques or lumps which impedes the flow of blood to the heart.

Over time, these plaques or lumps can rupture and totally block the flow of blood to the heart thus leading to heart attack. When the plaques block the flow of blood to the brain, it leads to stroke.

In summary:

Why you must stop using hydrogenated vegetable oil to cook? Because it contains Trans fat which is very unhealthy.

How they cause stroke and heart attack? By forming lumps which blocks the flow of blood to your heart and brain causing heart attack and stroke respectively.

The best and most healthy type of oil to cook with with is olive oil, and peanut oils becausethey do not contain Trans fat, or saturated fats. Instead they contain mono saturated fat that is healthier and does not cause the formation of bad cholesterol.

Finally, please reduce your intake of these foods, because most of them are prepared with hydrogenated vegetable oils:

1. Fried foods, including french fries, doughnuts and fried chicken.

2. Baked goods, such as cakes, cookies and pies

3. Frozen pizza

4. Microwave popcorn

5. margarine

6. Refrigerated dough, such as biscuits and rolls etc.
